🤿 SNORKELING 🤿

Snorkeling Picture

The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary protects an underwater world that’s home to the world’s third-largest barrier reef and more than 6,000 marine life species. This includes John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park which has the only living coral reef system in the United States.

Select an option below and we’ll head out on the Big Blue!

ADVENTURE ONE

location 1Christ of the Abyss, also known as “Christ of the Deep”, is a statue located in a patch reef called Dry Rocks and is situated in about 25 feet of water.

location 2Molasses Reef which is known as the best reef in the Caribbean for the abundance and diversity of marine life at depths ranging from 10 - 65 feet.

ADVENTURE TWO

location 1Horseshoe Reef which is known for some of the largest Elkhorn and Staghorn Corals situated at a maximum depth of 26 feet with several shallow swim through areas.

location 2Beacon G: French Reef is best known for its unusual coral reef structures and a flat hard bottom habitat with depths of 5 - 10 feet.

We do not supply snorkel gear, but we can advise you on purchases/rentals.

🎣 FISHING 🎣

Fishing Picture

The Florida Keys offers a wide variety of fishing during specific times of the year. Depending on which species you would like to catch will determine your option (see table below). Fishing poles will be provided for either option or you can bring your own. You will not need a fishing license since you are on a Big Blue charter!

Half day trips for 4 hours are offered with a 2 hour minimum. The best times are early morning or late afternoon. Full day trips up to 8 hours are also offered where we navigate to specific fishing spots.

ADVENTURE ONE

Trolling in the deep blue waters for the chance to catch migrating species depends on the time of year. We will catch live bait first and set out to deeper waters, using combinations of lures and ballyhoo or blue runners.

ADVENTURE TWO

Reef or drifting just outside the coral reef lines to catch any bottom dwellers. We will catch live bait as well as use squid and shrimp, chumming the waters to bring the fish to the surface. There are specific regulations based on species and sizes that we can keep.
